For Social Media Naysayers Among Us
Writers, If you're writing with the intention of getting stories in the hands of readers you feel certain will read your story if they know about it- or at least will download a sample -social media platform building is not a waste of time. It's a time suck but not a waste. Social media platforms are 21st century version of marketing and public relations, that is unless you have deep pockets. Then I encourage you to spend it on hiring those pros with proven track records. They're not cheap and you will still have to carefully monitor their work building/expanding your platform.
Platform Expanding Opportunity
My latest podcast show titled, AUTHORS & BOOK PROMOTION, 21ST CENTURY STYLE offers authors a 15 minute interview designed to promote your work, a win for you, and by offering viewers tidbits-what's working vs what hasn't-it's a win for them, too. I like interviewing authors and have been doing versions of it since social media sites came on the cyber scene. Here's a link to my past interview shows.
If you are interested in being interviewed on AUTHORS & BOOK PROMOTION, 21ST CENTURY STYLE, the fee is $20 and for that, I send 10 questions that we ZOOM in on over a 15 minute audio/video session. The attention span out here gets shorter and shorter so I've revised my podcast to a 'short & sweet' q/a. All interviews conducted on ZOOM.
About win/win, AUTHORS & BOOK PROMOTION, 21ST CENTURY STYLE expands my platform in this win/win video segment, too. When we all win, we tend to be a bit more invested so if you're a hard-working author covering ground out here and looking for more exposure, these interviews will help. click here for details.

NEW Read & Critique Workshop: Preserving Life Memories, In the fall of 2023, I replaced my ZOOM workshops with real time R & C workshops. Did I know that this new workshop would attract folks? I kind of did but until you do, who really knows? I begin my fifth workshop next week that extends into June, 2024 when I take a break to workshop at the Santa Barbara Writers Conference, (click here to sign up for this 5 day conference.) When I return, I will run a summer session of Preserving Life Memories that will carry my writers through to September 2024. Click the link interested in joining us.
Expanding My Platform:
Some may know that I relaunched and ebook novel, Deadly Little Secrets, initially published in 2013 and re- launched recently for a few reasons. I have a novel scheduled to be published in Fall 2024 and we hope that adding another book to my presence out here will benefit the publication of SweetSpot: Now and Then. Another reason I relaunched Deadly Little Secrets has to do with my mental health, or lack of, that prompted me to take it down despite solid reviews. This video offers a bit of insight. Set in 1985 and centered on that other pandemic, the story told in Deadly Little Secrets threatens the lifelong relationship between two best friends since the fifth grade, an RN and an MD. Fast -paced and dialogue driven, a medical suspense novel. Should you purchase and read, please leave a review.
